Delivery of “SVITZER APLAYA” Escort Tug For Svitzer Bahrain

The first of four 28m escort tugs “SVITZER APLAYA” built by Hin Lee Shipyard in Zhuhai, China (Part of Cheoy Lee Shipyard) has been delivered successfully and departed to the new homeport in The Philippines on 11th October 2022.

This 28m RAstar 2800-CL tug incorporates a more economical and efficient design from Canadian marine design firm Robert Allan.

The main propulsion is powered by two CAT 3516C diesel engines driving two Schottel full-turn rudder propellers, a power combination that allows the tug to reach speeds of over 13 knots and towing capacities of up to 80 tons.

Star MarinePro are pleased to have assisted Owner with site supervision for this project. Four more sister tugs are in construction progress at the same yard. We are looking forward to seeing them completed in the near future.
