Modification of M/V Daniel K. Inouye for Matson

American ship owner Matson has signed an order with Nantong COSCO for the LNG dual-fuel gas supply system modification project for the vessel M/V Daniel K. Inouye.

The M/V Daniel K. Inouye is a 3600TEU container. The main project is to install LNG dual fuel supply and control system for the main engine and four auxiliary engines, renovate six skid-mounted compartments, install three 1,350 cubic meters LNG fuel tanks, and install system-related fire detection and extinguishing, ventilation, lighting, communication, safety and other related equipment.

Docking is from April to June. Upon completion of the modification, the Daniel K. Inouye is expected to continue operating on the trans-Pacific route between the U.S. West Coast and Asia.
