The LNG dual-fuel retrofit of the Kaimana Hila, a 3,600 TEU container vessel owned by Matson Navigation, has been successfully completed by COSCO SHIPPING’s Nantong Shipbuilding Engineering Co., Ltd. This major upgrade, which marks the third LNG dual-fuel retrofit for Matson, has now been finalized, with the vessel re-entering service.

- Retrofit Details: The main engine and four auxiliary engines were replaced with an LNG dual-fuel system.
The engine upgrade includes the replacement of the original MAN B&W S90ME-C10.5 model with the new dual-fuel ME-GI engine, supporting LNG operation. Technical support for the retrofit was provided by MAN PrimeServ.
