Star MarinePro Delivers Commissioning for World’s First Carbon-Capture FPSO
02/2025
February 20, 2025, Shanghai – Star MarinePro provided key commissioning services for the Agogo, the world’s first FPSO with a carbon capture and storage (CCS) system, recently named in Shanghai. Developed by Yinson and Azule Energy, the vessel was retrofitted by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry.
Star MarinePro’s team established the central control system network, conducted logic and functionality tests, and supported instrumentation loop testing and troubleshooting. These efforts ensured the smooth operation of Agogo’s advanced CCS and decarbonization systems, making it one of the most eco-friendly FPSOs globally.
The Agogo is projected to cut 230,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 110,000 acres of forest. This milestone highlights Star MarinePro’s expertise in FPSO commissioning and advances decarbonization in the offshore energy sector.
