Star MarinePro is driven by one big goal that we continuously want to over-achieve: We always want to provide the best technical solution to the marine and offshore industries.

Especially for non-Chinese clients, we coordinate, manage and supervise all projects so that they can gain the maximum benefit of China’s shipping know-how and infrastructure.

During the last 26 years, Star MarinePro (founded company as Star trading Co., Ltd. Shanghai) has quickly developed for a marine parts and product trading company to a full-service technical provider: From building whole ships to all sorts of refurbishing.

Our hub is in Shanghai, the heart of China`s shipping industry. Supported by a representation in Northern Europe, we keep the communication lines between the two different business cultures swift and smooth. Our commitment is clearly worldwide: Wherever you are from, will maintain the asset value of your vessels as economically as possible. We ensure the projects under our management are kept in optimal condition in terms of mechanics, technology and personal management – and in a state of operational readiness and compliance.

Star MarinePro has delivered safety and technical standards that have become benchmarks in the industry. Star MarinePro offers a comprehensive range of ship management services that we tailor to each vessel owner’s needs. These include technical and engineering services, new building supervision, insurance, independent surveys, superintendence, audits and commercial management.

Star MarinePro encompasses two other companies: Star Ocean Engineering and Star Trading. Together we are dedicated to providing you first-class service with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Milestone after Milestone …

In less than 26 years, Star MarinePro has developed from a small business into a worldwide service provider for the maritime industry. On its way, it has taken many of its major players on board as its partners. That’s how it began – and how it developed:

2000

Star Trading Co., Ltd Shanghai is founded as a trading house serving the marine sector.

2005

First brokerage, site supervision and projection management for Herning Shipping. In the subsequent years, many such projects follow in quick succession – for Jo Tanker, Lauritzen Offshore, A2SEA and others.

2010

We establish a consultancy for ship building and maintenance services in China.

2011

Business in the shipbuilding and supervision segment increases further. So we establish Star MarinePro Corp. in order to increase our capacities and develop a brand targeted to this segment.

2016

Major reconstruction supervision projects become part of our portfolio, for example for M/V Torben, a DP2 Turbine Installation Platform. In order to expand into engineering solutions, we establish Star Ocean Engineering.

2018

We signed an exclusive agency agreement for Elkon in China and established Star MarinePro Group, which includes all business units and serves overseas clients through its platform in Northern Europe.

2019

We opened our second overseas commercial office in Cyprus, further extending our global reach. This office allowed us to strengthen our presence in the Mediterranean and offer more services to clients in the region.

2020

We completed our first scrubber retrofitting project, contributing to the maritime industry’s efforts to reduce sulfur emissions. This project demonstrated our ability to adapt to regulatory changes and provide innovative solutions to help our clients achieve environmental compliance.

2022

We successfully completed our first LNG dual-fuel retrofitting project, an important step in our commitment to sustainable shipping solutions. This project showcased our leadership in the growing field of alternative fuel technologies and demonstrated our capability to retrofit vessels with LNG dual-fuel systems to reduce environmental impact.

2024

We are set to complete our first methanol dual-fuel retrofitting project. This project marks another milestone in our ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable shipping practices and offers our clients an alternative fuel option to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency.
